Appalachia Lesson Plans
Appalachian history and culture is rich with stories, music, and explanations of our roots and how we got to where we are now as a region. This history provides invaluable lessons that inform our path as we move forward. Exposing students to this rich and diverse history early on in their education provides a clear context for the state of the region today, as well as offering a sense of pride in the rich heritage of Appalachia. Below you'll find three lesson plans to include in your teaching. These can be used to fill an individual class period, or be expanded into a more significant part of your teaching.
