Annotation: 

This DVD was on the eight state-recognized tribes of North Carolina, along with the North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs. These eight tribes are: the Haliwa-Saponi, the Meherrin, the Coharie, the Waccamaw-Siouan, the Lumbee, the Eastern Band of Cherokee, the Occaneechi Band of Saponi and the Sappony.

During the portion of the video dedicated to the Lumbee tribe, Tribal Administrator Leon Jacobs was interviewed and gave a description of recent and upcoming programs within the tribe. Jacobs mentioned a housing program from HUD, an energy assistance program, youth cultural enrichment programs and the Lumbee Indian Boys & Girls Club that has come to fruition in Pembroke, North Carolina.

He also mentioned that the annual powwow was upcoming, and it celebrates the heritage and culture of the Lumbee tribe that he, along with the other tribal members, are so proud of. Overall, the video was a compilation of brief overviews of all of the state-recognized tribes in North Carolina, with various shots of customs and traditions.
