Lengthy letter. Croatans do not expect to get millions, as the News and Observer spoke of. They “are only trying to fix [their] prestige among the Indian tribes of the United States.” McMillan and the BAE agree that Croatans are a branch of the Cherokees. Croatans fought with Whites against the Tuscaroras in 1713.
