Dr. Ruth Dial Woods, a Pembroke native who retired in 1997 as assistant professor at Fayetteville State University, has been elected to the 32-member UNC (System) Board of Governors. She previously served on the Board from 1985-1993. Representative Ronnie Sutton, who nominated her, believes she will provide strong representation for UNC-Pembroke.
