Councilman Steve Sampson was elected tribal speaker during the first tribal meeting of 2011. Sampson replaces Ricky Burnett, who was required to leave the council because of term limits. The tribal constitution states that the tribal speaker is elected each year to preside over all Tribal Council meetings and to act as a representative of the tribe.

The council also elected Councilwoman Sharon Hunt as vice chairwoman, Councilwoman Linda Revels as secretary, Councilwoman Pam Spaulding as treasurer, and Councilman Shelly Strickland as parliamentarian.
