Lowry, D. F. “Stresses Unity for Advance in Indian Church.” Robesonian 6 March 1958.
After the Klan routing, a New York Herald Tribune article asked “how these oldest of all Americans have got themselves into an ‘inferior’ category.” Lowry believes Indians’ clannishness caused this misconception. He deplores separate Indian church conferences, stating that “it is impossible to get along without the white man from any angle .... Since we are a local group we must work with another race that is universal.”
