App State's Open Access Journal Program
Appalachian State University Libraries has two locally-hosted open access publishing platforms, PubPub and Open Journal Systems (OJS), which allow members of the academic community to publish open access journals.
Our goal is to strengthen the research profile of Appalachian State University and our faculty members through the production and publication of high-quality, peer-reviewed journals in a range of scholarly fields and industries.
If you have an idea for starting an open access journal, or an interest in converting a a subscription journal you manage to open access, please contact Natalie Foreman (foremannr@appstate.edu)
The DSI team will help you get started, talk about open access, discuss options for hosting, obtaining domain names, formatting articles, and other steps for starting or managing your publication. If you have an existing online or print journal, we can assist you in converting it to an online version and digitizing backfiles.
