Willets, Sarah. "McCrory to protest votes in 12 counties; Robeson among those cited." Robesonian [Lumberton, NC] November 17, 2016.
Gov. Pat McCrory has stated that fraudulent ballots were cast in 11 more North Carolina counties during the 2016 election. Robeson County was listed, in addition to others.
This comes after other allegations of the Democratic Party paying people to fill out absentee ballots in Bladen County. This is one of a long string of allegations made by McCrory and his team. Ballots counted late in Durham County, the Democratic Party transferring money to political action committees and more have been alleged by the incumbent.
The race has yet to be called, with a separation of only 5,000 votes, but McCrory does hold an 8 percent margin over Roy Cooper in Robeson County.
