Robeson County’s Furnie Lambert officially became chairman of the North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs, succeeding the late Ruth Revels.

Lambert, a former Marine, is a senior member of the commission and also serves as chairman of the Veterans and Indian Land Trust committees.
