The ULN, a self-declared Indian nation of 2,300 people of varying Indian ancestry, is headquartered in Shasta County, north-central California. It merged from three branches. Few members are North Carolina Lumbees. Explains the roles of Johnnie Reed, Malcolm “Thunderbird” Webber, and Jim Chavis (a N.C. Lumbee). A chart (p. 97) gives the location of clans and bands.
