Digital collections to which Appalachian contributes
Digital NC
Many aspects of the history and life of North Carolina are digitally represented and hosted by the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center, a statewide digitization and digital publishing program housed in the North Carolina Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Collections from the ASU Library are included, as are those of libraries, museums, historical societies, archives, and other cultural heritage organizations across the state.
Digital Public Library of America (DPLA)
The Library contributes collections to this resource that was created to collect and freely distribute digitized materials that reflect the common and unique heritage of Americans and our history and culture. More than 15 million images are free to access.
Internet Archive
The Internet Archive was established to preserve important content from the early days of the Internet through the present and going forward. Some of the ASU Library digitized collections can be found in this historical and contemporary archive via the “WayBack Machine.”
Other digital collections
The Library provides access to many commercially produced collections as well. Please refer to the Library’s list of databases for more information.
